Eco Friendly Sand Dollar Stud Earrings

Handcrafted in Croyde, North Devon, from 'Silver Clay', a wonderful material made of tiny silver particles that have been recycled from the waste of the silver industry, which when fired become 99.99% pure solid silver.

Each stud has been made using the mould of a real tiny sand dollar that I found on Barricane Beach in Woolacombe, North Devon, so they are a perfect little silver replica of the original. They measure 8mm by 6mm and are securely soldered to sterling silver ear posts and sold with sterling silver butterfly backs. They will arrive with you in a Recycled Wild Silver Jewellery box, safely packaged in 100% recycled, plastic free packaging.

Sand Dollars are very fragile little sea creatures that can withstand very harsh sea conditions, they teach us to adapt to change and remind us of our inner strength. The five pointed star in the centre of the skeleton represents the five elements of earth, air, water, fire and spirit, and to wear a sand dollar helps us to balance these elements. Some also say that they are the lost coins of mermaids!

The last photo is the matching pendant which is also available on my website.

I plant a tree for every order placed!

Please have a look at my ‘about’ pages for more details on silver clay and the processes involved in making each piece, as well as the Wild Silver Jewellery 'story' and the steps I take to minimise my environmental impact throughout jewellery making and distribution.
